Our Initiatives
Yass Valley Cat Rescue focuses on bringing positive change to animal welfare in a variety of ways.

-
By helping to educate and support residents to desex and microchip their pets and to keep them contained, especially at night.
-
By advocating for change in regulation and increased support from government at all levels for reducing the street cat population.
-
To assist in rehoming cats and kittens within the community.
Unfortunately we are limited by the number of foster carers and lack of facilities to deal with large numbers of cats and kittens. Cats and kittens that were born on the street and are older than about 3 months old can take months to years to learn to live inside with people safely. Some never do. We don't have the resources to tackle this problem. Our main goal is to get kittens off the street and into homes early and to desex adult cats.
